  • Are you passionate about using clear, inclusive, and human language?
  • Do you want to ensure that your communications meet the needs of the people you are working with and supporting?
  • Do you want to learn how to empower yourself to change, so that more people can understand and use the health and care information you provide?

Then join us for the second Language and Health Literacy Development Day on Thursday, 12 March.

The It’s All About People and Health Inequalities and Prevention teams have joined forces to shine a spotlight on health literacy and the power of language across Health and Care.

The language we use matters. That's why we're challenging the Lincolnshire health and care workforce to reflect on the words they use - spoken and written - and how those words shape the experiences of the people they support.

This development day is your chance to:

  • ✅ Take part in an interactive, hands-on training day
  • ✅ Learn practical skills to improve communication in health and social care
  • ✅ Hear from people about their own lived experience
  • Stretch your thinking and strengthen your practice

The day will be:

  • Interactive - expect to join in discussions and activities
  • Challenging - it will stretch your thinking about how you communicate
  • Grounded in stories - you’ll hear directly from people about when language has got it wrong - and when it’s been done right

Feedback from participants of the first Language and Health Literacy Development Day in November 2025
