Registration is now open for the half-day workshops hosted by person-centred care champion Tommy Whitelaw on Monday 4 November at The Showroom, Lincoln.
These interactive workshops, entitled ‘You Make a Difference’, are aimed at middle managers and team leaders and are free to attend.
Join Tommy to explore how to create more compassionate workplaces and systems by asking ‘What works well?’ and ‘What can we do differently in the future?’
These workshops are being hosted for the first Joint Health and Care Leadership Forum.
The morning workshop runs 9.30am - 12.30pm and the afternoon workshop runs 1.30pm - 4.30pm.
These sessions are hosted as the first Joint Health and Care Leadership Forum, and are part of a short tour of Lincolnshire that Tommy is undertaking in early November – we’ll share full details of the tour very soon.
Tommy is the Person-Centred Voices National Lead for Scotland’s Health and Social Care Alliance and promotes person-centred approaches and ‘Intelligent Kindness’ across all areas of care and support.
For five years Tommy was a full-time carer for his late mother, Joan, who had Vascular Dementia. His work is driven by that experience and led by the values and principles of the ‘What matters to you’ and ‘Intelligent Kindness’ movements. These identify active listening, kindness and person-centredness as a key to providing inclusive support and care to all individuals, as well as creating healthy working environments.
The impact of Tommy’s work with organisations across the UK is well-evidenced. Partner organisations have reported the benefits of embedding person-centred approaches in their organisational structures, processes, and service delivery, seeing improved outcomes both for staff and the people they support.
