ReSPECT Policy Launch: NEW Drop-In Sessions announced

The Lincolnshire ReSPECT policy has been refreshed, with a clear focus on making personalised emergency care planning simpler, faster, and more accessible for everyone involved.

To support colleagues in understanding and confidently using the updated approach, a new short series of drop-in sessions has been scheduled for late April (see dates and times below)

These friendly, informal sessions offer practical guidance, real-world answers, and open discussion, making it easier to feel confident in delivering personalised emergency care planning.

These sessions work!

Over 200 colleagues from across Health, Social Care, and the VCFSE sector joined ReSPECT Drop-in sessions held through February to April - and the response has been overwhelmingly positive:

  • “Thank you, I found this very useful and informative.”
  • “I shall be recommending others attend.”
  • “Some great conversations today - I really got a lot out of this session.”

What makes these sessions so valuable is that they go beyond a simple presentation - they create an open, supportive space where people can share experiences, ask questions, and learn from one another.

What the sessions cover

The sessions cover a wide range of practical topics, including:

  • How to initiate ReSPECT conversations
  • Roles and responsibilities when completing ReSPECT forms
  • Using ReSPECT in care homes and community settings
  • Working with EMAS and paramedics in emergency situations
  • ReSPECT conversations in hospitals, emergencies, and crises
  • Approaches to complex and paediatric cases
  • Improving the quality of conversations and workforce training
  • Document handling and practical considerations

We’re also building a useful Q&A resource based on the questions raised—so every session helps support colleagues across the system.

Bring your questions

Whether you’re looking for guidance on a specific topic or just want to better understand the updated policy, these drop-ins are a great opportunity to get involved.

No need to prepare - just join, listen, and ask.
