Personalised Care Week 2026: Your Thoughts, Your Voice

What does personalisation really mean to the people who live it, work in it and champion it every day?

For Personalised Care Week, we asked six people from different backgrounds and roles across Lincolnshire to share their thoughts, experiences and perspectives on what personalisation means to them.

Their responses are different, and that’s exactly the point.

Some reflect on professional experience, others on caring for family members or their own experiences of health and care. Together, their voices explore what it means to see the person before the pathway, listen to what matters, recognise strengths, share power and support genuine choice and control.

They also challenge us to think differently:

  • Are we truly personalising care if the choices are already defined for people?
  • What happens when systems prioritise speed over listening?
  • And what might change if we simply took the time to understand what matters to someone?

There is no single definition of personalisation. These are six individual perspectives, honest, thoughtful and sometimes challenging, sharing what personalisation means to them.
